Chicago preparations for St. Louis
Here in Chicago, we're making the last preparations for this week and weekend. I'm particularly scrambling like mad, since I'll be leaving Chicago to head to Urbana Wednesday morning at the butt-crack of dawn (as my sister oh so eloquently puts it), and then from there to St. Louis.
I myself just completed a snazzy display for the Chicago Media Action exhibit at the Media Democracy Showcase (hope you can stop on by!), and will tonight work on a couple of flyers and a CMA scrapbook.
Plus, I just got word that my ride might not be able to make it to Urbana for the pre-conference conference due to an unforeseen change-of-plans, thus leaving me with no (immediately ready) transit to Urbana. Have to wait for confirmation, one way or the other. So it'll be a nerve-wracking next twenty-four hours, I fear.
Plenty o' expected actions afoot in the streets: Democracy Now is spearheading street actions to promote the show. Members of CMA will also be involved in protests at the St. Louis Viacom offices just two blocks from the Millennium Hotel. Plus, one reliable source tells me that there are Saturday night plans for a bonfire, but I didn't tell you that.
