  • Slashdot reports that the folks who brought you the Ogg Vorbis open-source audio codec are releasing an open-source video codec as well. I hope this means a high-quality codec that will work well on any platform. I'll tell you, trying to support video on Macs and PCs is frequently a nightmare, even though Real and Quicktime are supposedly fully cross-platform, performance is not equal across platforms.
