DIY-WEBLOG:

Friday, August 09, 2002

  • This month the Insider Audio column at Mix magazine covers my current favorite radio, the Tivoli Model One table radio, by the late Henry Kloss. I've had this radio for about a month and I love it. It sounds great -- better than any similarly priced boombox -- and really does pick up stations like mad. It's not fancy, it has no crazy menus or extra features. It just works, and for a radio, I think that's most important. And while I had to think long and hard about spending $100 on a mono radio, I don't regret it, especially because it looks really nice, too. Nevermind the fact that with most boomboxes you have to be right in front of it to get any decent stereo effect.

So, if there are local (or distant) stations you're dying to pick up and listen to, try this radio, I'm sure you'll be happy. (and, no, I'm not being paid by Tivoli).
