Big-time Weblogger Awards as a cover for self-aggrandizement? It makes one wonder if the wonderful and revolutionary weblogging community isn't really just 30 real bloggers and a few thousand wannabes.
So, what really is the purpose of bloggin' awards anyway? Sincerely, isn't lauding a few well-known websites for their alleged quality (read: superiority) above the thousands upon thousand of others that aren't well known sort of counter to the supposed weblog ethos? Are they not so well known because they suck and all the well known ones kick ass?
It all seems more like a feedback-loop, as the nominated gush about the other nominees and the nominator (or themselves). A Meme spreads about like jizz in a big circle jerk.
But then someone says something utterly reasonable.
I've got nothing to say about Segway, or megway. What's the big fucking deal? Bloggers meme-whore at an astonishing rate.
More multimedia: bad Def Leppard humor kicks ass.
