Jay Sand, an independent journalist who has been working in the global
Indpendent Media Center movement, including the IMCs in D.C.
and in Philadelphia, his home base.
I met Jay (and roped him into an interview) because he stopped by the
Urbana-Champaign IMC on his
way across the midwest, with Seattle as his final destination. On the
program we talk about the growing IMC movement, its importance and the
challenges it faces. January 7 - Year-end wrap

Radio Page at About.com. Host Paul Riismandel and John Anderson
discuss what happened to low-power FM during the year 2000, from the FCC's
approval in January to Congress putting on severe constraints in December,
along with ideas about what the future holds for low-power FM and grassroots

the second FCC radio on Mbanna Kantako and Human Rights Radio in Springfield,

with Jason Pankoke, editor/publisher of the Champaign-Urbana based journal
of independent cinema Micro-Film.

with David Gans, volunteer programmer at KPFA, Berkeley, speaking about
troubles at KPFA, just prior to the historic lockout that took place that
spring. This interview was recorded at WEFT during David's music tour

on the May 10 1997 police raid on Black Liberation Radio in the home of
Napoleon Williams and Mildred Jones, Decatur, IL. [14 min.] March 17 - *Interview with

to air subsequent to having his home raided and his radio broadcasting
equipment seized by the Decatur Police and Macon County States Attorney.
